Herpes Simplex

 

Homeopathic treatment is constitutional but the remedies listed below are recommended for use in emergencies. Choose the remedy which most closely match your illness. It is not necessary to have every symptom listed in order to bring about a cure.

Take remedies of the 6c potency three times a day until certain improvement, then stop taking the remedy. If symptoms continue despite the repetition of the remedy, then try an other remedy or consult a homeopath.

Take remedies in a clean mouth, 30 minutes before or one hour after food or drink, try not to touch and allow it to dissolve under the tongue. Remember not to use mint : toothpaste, chewing gum, chocolate, cough drops, etc.

RHUS TOX

small vesicles the size of a pinhead. They contain a clear, citrine liquid, and the base is erythemotous, itchy and burning
Pruritis is not > by scratching; > constant changing of position (this causes the patient to be somewhat restless); hot compresses or hot showers.
Useful in right-sided zoster with extensive vesication.
Perhaps accompanied with rheumatic pains.
All symptoms < night, damp weather, winter.

MEZEREUM

two cutaneous aspects:
- pruriginous, burning vesicles which contain a thick, opalescent, white or yellowish liquid.
- thick, hard, whitish or brownish crusts which release under pressure a whitish or yellowish pus produced by a small underlying ulcer.
Intercostal and facial neuralgia aggravated by touch, movement, at night by the warmth of the bed and > by the warmth of a heater.

BORAX

the vesicles are opaque and grouped together in confluent masses as in genital herpes.
Borax is too often thought of as being a "specific" remedy only for aphtose ulcers of the mouth (buccal aphthosis

NATRUM MURIATICUM

"Specific" for genital and facial herpes labialis.
